You're missing an option to replace rsync with a git repo that has metadata, but not the other stuff. Of course, this already exists and no doubt many are using it. It just isn't official. I'm fine with Changelogs going away entirely, in any case. That's what git is for. If people want to spend time dynamically generating them, it isn't harmful to do so. -- Rich
