(can't speak for the original author, but) I on the other hand liked it more this way. Since >=4.0 has been available for quite some time already (package.masked), people might've done the upgrade with the info available in pkg_postinst(). And then again this news item seems useless if you never had <4.0 installed anyway. You should receive a notification about this news item after you sync, before you world-update. I do prefer it like this, seems a bit clearer, but no strong opinions either way... -- juippis
