I found this board, and it runs an 2.6 linux kernel, according to the
vendor,
but, it'd be much better if it, or a similar board runs embedded gentoo.
Any suggestions are most welcome.

TS-7xxx series boards from Technologic Systems. I have a TS-7200 - it
was quite inexpensive.
