Hi guys, i have a custom built hardware which is capable of inserting temperature information into a video signal (PAL, as i am from europe/austria).
the design is based on a "OSD-chip" from the good old VCR days ;) - and a microcontroller - however, those components are not available any more and i would like to go with an embedded linux solution with video in and video out, and some analog io. currently i am planning to use the following: - via epia with Flash Drive (fanless, cheap, has Video-Out, although not at a very good quality) - bt8x8 video in card - redesign the current analog part with 1wire components - can be easily connected via usb - i would also go with "off-the-shelf" hardware (i would need 2 A/D converters and some digital i/o) - but haven't found something useful until now ... i also thought about using http://www.compulab.co.il hardware - as they have "Video In" capabilities, but the linux support is unknown (?) - they say ... and i am not sure how to generate a PAL signal on these boards ... would also like to try out gumstix - but havent digged deeper in what they offer ... so, has anyone here some suggestions for me ?!?! thanks for all, mexx. -- [EMAIL PROTECTED] mailing list
