afaik, the hotplug/netlink events are equivalent, but i dont do device hotplugging, so i havent tested.-mike
OK, the point is that I added a simple script as my hotplug manager, all it does is dump the environment into a file. This allows me to easily see the hotplug events that are actually generated. I get stuff when I plug and unplug stuff, but nothing when I put the network cable in/out. However, something appears in dmesg
