Both, but, why would it matter? Using and IDE from TI, like Code Composer, you can do both. Why would using a linux workstation for
either type of firmware, be any different?


Actually most firmware engineers still use IDE's on windows, even for embedded linux development. That's why something like Eclipse
for embedded development is so promising, imho.
