Either your file /usr/portage/distfiles/hardened-patches-2.4-32.3.tar.bz2 is broken (or was broken while being downloaded) or (which I experienced now and then) the information in the portage tree is defective. Delete /usr/portage/distfiles/hardened-patches-2.4-32.3.tar.bz2 and run emerge --sync again. Then reemerge hardened-sources. Regards.
