I think your best bet is to relabel as the system runs and do the loose
ends by hand, as explained in the link. For reference you might stick to
ext2/3 until you got it working. I'm not sure jfs/xfs/reiserfs is on par
with the extra labels despite the listing in the kernel config.
I always stick to basics and ext2/3 is one of them ;-)
