(edit: sorry, formatting error in last mail)

Hi folks,

I'm trying to compile, with crossdev, a toolchain to build 'cell' binaries on
my i686 gentoo. But I've hit the wall on every single combination of gcc/glibc
versions. I'm probably doing something wrong, since other users have
sucessfully used some of these, but on amd64. Is it even possible doing this in
i686?

I'm running for instance 'crossdev --l 2.5-r4 --g 4.0.4 --target
powerpc64-unknown-linux-gnu', and get

"configure:2772: gcc -V &5
gcc: '-V' must come at the start of the command line
configure:2775: $? = 1
configure:2779: checking for suffix of object files
configure:2800: gcc -c -O1 -pipe conftest.c>&5
conftest.c:1: sorry, unimplemented: 64-bit mode not compiled in"

With more recent versions (4.3.1/2.7) I get an error like
http://bugs.gentoo.org/show_bug.cgi?id=229391

With all the combinations I'm getting one of these. Does anyone with i686 have
a crosscompiled toolchain?

Thanks in advance,
Nelson
