I just received email about a new computer algebra system called SAGE.
The home page is http://modular.ucsd.edu/sage/. SAGE is a Python-based
wrapper around PARI, GAP, GMP, Singular, mwrank, and NTL. All of these
appear to be already in Portage except "mwrank". However, the SAGE
source comes with a copy of all its dependencies.
I'm planning to check SAGE out in the near future. Meanwhile, it does
look interesting, although I don't think it's as "industrial strength"
as Axiom or Maxima.
