Well, I agree with Stuart. We are running PHP5 in one of our servers (based on Gentoo) for more than 4 months (I think) without a single problem. To install it, we just unmasked it, chose the right and most appropriated USE flags to our users needs and there it was, smoothly installed and still working fine on the system.
