Hi everyone,
I am currently migrating a Red Hat 9 server to Gentoo. Since this is a live server we are redoing the setup on a new machine and are going to replace the box running Red Hat 9 with this new box running Gentoo.
Part of the installation is that of Postfix for email.
I noticed that the maildir files have the hostname appended to the end of it, so a typical file name could be 1108722302.V901I14c3ba.lithium:2, (where lithium is the hostname) now since the new machine has a different hostname can the Postfix installation on the new host still read these files?
Or do they have to be changed?
I just migrated my user's .maildir from one box to another (different hostnames) and courier-imap picked them up on the new box without a problem.
