I'm really impressed, even with 500 Gb disks 9 teras is 18 of them, how do you manage to withstand 4 drive failures? And how do you configure the 24 disks to allow 8 disk failures sacrificing only half capacity? I can think of some schemes, but they seem pretty slow to me.
