Alot of our servers use (built in) Broadcom's, never had any problems.

Used some very cheap D-Link DGE-528T as well, but not for the
production side. Worked fairly well however if you need a stop-gap.

Broadcom or Intel... not that there are really any other choices. Used
both, never had a problem with either. Some cheap Broadcom cards can't
do jumbo frames which you're very unlikely to use. That's pretty much it.
