Put your hostname in the file:

/etc/hostname

then it *should* get set on boot by /etc/init.d/hostname

If that doesn't work, check to make sure that hostname is in your
/etc/runlevels/boot directory. Finally, if it's not there, you should be
able to add it by doing:
rc-update add hostname boot
