Hello all,

Is there anyone having problems with gentoo-sources-2.4.20-r1 and
reiserfs as its root filesystem? I'm asking because I'd experienced 2
problems already:

The symlinks /usr/bin/{mkdir,mknod} got screwed. Even as root I cannot
remove them; rm /usr/bin/{mkdir,mknod} kept getting 'permission denied'.
These got fixed by running reiserfsck --rebuild-tree from livecd. It
also put a copy of /usr/bin/namei in /lost+found.

Then I was emerging kde-3.1 and the ebuild process broke with a gcc
segfault, I restarted the emerge and the ebuild exploded again on the
first compilation with gcc complaining about syntax error in
/usr/lib/gcc-lib/i686-pc-linux-gnu/3.2.1/include/g++-v3/limits. I
checked the file and where one should read 'static const int
max_exponent = 0;' I found 'static cqnst int max_exponent = 0;'. Very
odd... So I rebooted and the file read as it should again.

I restarted the emerge and its building ok up until now.

I think I can rule out memory problems since I ran memtest86 and passed
ok, though I ran it just for about 15 minutes.

I'm thinking in giving a try to gentoo-sources-2.4.19-r10.

Regards,
