-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 I have several low end machines setup as X terminals to a higher powered machine. The X terms do a net boot, mount the root over NFS to the server and start up X. I have kdm running as the session manager on the server and the X terms can login fine and runs apps, etc.
My question is that my users will want to put in a floppy on the terminal and copy files to/from it, how do I do this (without having them using a V/C and using scp or rcp)? Ideally I'd like to provide an icon on the desktop similar to existing desktop icons for floppy and CD-ROM drives. I looked into nbd but it only serves files, and NFS (I think) only exports directories, not devices. I think I've seen this done before but I cannot remember how.... Any ideas? - -- Pat Double, [EMAIL PROTECTED] "In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth." -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.2.1 (GNU/Linux) iD8DBQE+QJzudOmLNuoWoKgRAm3MAKDU2ovFoDsVctQoJ4jIy6dxKZlCnwCcDcac FlUppECQumjii/r5R4lN9+o= =mWJo -----END PGP SIGNATURE----- -- [EMAIL PROTECTED] mailing list
