When installing from the 1.4_rc2 Athlon XP GRP CD
image on a system with the following specs:
- Athlon XP 1100MHz, 256 KB cache
- Via Chipset
- HighPoint HPT370/372 RAID controller integrated
on mainboard (KG7)
- Two IDE disks running in striping RAID
- 512 MB main mamory
- SB-Live EMU10000
- NVidia GeForce NV11 on AGP
the kernel freezes during booting with te following
messages:

hda: Pioneer DVD-ROM...
hdb: LITE-ON CD-writer...
hdc: IOMEGA ZIP 100 ATAPI...
spurious 8259A interrupt: IRQ7.

I googled for the final error message, but it seems
that this can have many causes.
Any ideas?
