I have the same issue. Just wanted to second this... :)

gcc 3.2.2 is out and appears to fix allot of things. I know the tree is frozen 
and all but it seems like this and a newer kernel should make it into 
1.4_final. 

1.4 needs to be released soon I would think since more and more will be 
updated every month we go along with this tree freeze. Anyone have any 
indication of release of 1.4 RC3 or final? We're almost a month past the 
expected release date.
