I finally figured this one out, just thought I'd let you know...

I had to add "aalib" to my list of USE variables. Then it used the aa driver, which is I guess what it was using in the older version, although the use variable didn't exist then. Hope this saves someone else some trouble.

Hi all,

I've been using xine for months with no problems, using xine-lib-0.9.13 and xine-ui-0.9.13.

Anyway, today I decided to try out the "latest and greatest", so I installed xine-lib-1_beta4.ebuild and xine-ui-0.9.18.ebuild. No joy, I get an error at startup about VIDIX drivers -- I'm assuming that means somehow the video plugins aren't working. But what's different with the newer version that it can't use whatever it was using with the old verions? I see it probing for a lot of PCI devices, but that shouldn't be necessary. Worst case, it should still be able to use Xshm, right? Any ideas? For now, its back to the tried and true for me.
