the problem is, that as soon as KDE and this means arts, the KDE sound daemon 
is running, all sound interaction has to go through this thingy. Most tools 
have output plugins to interact with arts. If you don't have support for arts 
in this game, you have to deactivate the sound server in the Control Center 
of KDE, play the game which kann interact with the OSS or alsa drivers, and 
afterwards have to reinit arts.
