It would be nice actually that a tool generate a regular backup of that folder inside a user-choice directory. Something like a cron event that would do tar zcvf backup.tgz /var/db/pkg And maybe even do a rotation, what about a gentoo-backup ebuild, you modify /etc/conf.d/gentoobackup.conf to say what to backup and where then write a nice bash script to cron. -- Yannick Koehler -- [EMAIL PROTECTED] mailing list
