So here are the answers I found (thanks!) so far (and they do work):
Add to ~/.procmailrc

And add to ~/.muttrc

No, that is not true, every message has a unique identifier. It also has a
Reference tag which points to another message's unique identifier, so no
"topic" matching necessary.
