My editor of choice is currently beaver (x based) However, I am finding I may need a new one.
Here's the problem. I am trying to edit a windows registry file system.reg is 2974173 in size. I can edit it, but it's really slow. Right now, the only area I need to edit is way at the end, so I do not need the whole thing in memory at the same time. Yeah, I could break it up into pieces, but I am too lazy, and I may need to go in there again in a different area. My box is a PIII 800, with 256megs of ram, so it's not a screamer, but it should be pretty good. Gee, now if windows would only use small config files for each program. Hmm, where have I seen that?
