Please put vi or any other editor anyone wants in the stage 1 tarball. Seriously. Note that I am saying this and its well noted I can't stand vi in any of it's incarnations..and I agree with the quip that emacs is an awfully good OS but doesn't have a decent text-editor. I've switched to nano because I got tired of dl'ing pine just to get the editor I wanted. I hear that argument about not finding vi when you're used to (insert Unix system here).I fully expect to use vi when I boot into Solaris or (insert Unix system here).The sad sad fact of the matter is gentoo is linux and linux, although really nice, will never be unix, so why must we insist that it be unix? So in the interest of fairness and balance..add all the editors---surely it will be less weight than the countless mail we've downloading about the subject:)
