You might tray a stage 2 or 3 but if your card isn't recognized now it may 
not be with those.  I've only done stage 1.

However, if you haven't done emerge sync you won't have any files.

Have you tried finding out what module your card uses and doing a modprobe on 
it once the LiveCD is booted?
