In _my_ box Gnome performs better (Duron 900Mhz). KDE is okay. I don't
think that performance is a deciding factor here.

Agreed. Please define efficiency. There's a million things that could
mean.

Me neither.

I haven't entirely made up my mind on this issue. I've used both KDE and
Gnome a lot, and I always find myself going back to Gnome.

I get the impression that most people find KDE easier, but I personally
find Gnome easier. I remember in more than one occasion struggling to do
something in one which was easy on the other (it's been both ways). But
these thins are the exception, not the rule.

I _my_ opinion, KDE looks more like Windows. No offence intended, I
recognize that KDE is _far_ superior. I'm not saying that it looks like
Windows. I'm saying that, compared to Gnome, *MY* opinion is that it
looks *comparatively* more like Windows. You might notice some Mac
influence in Gnome.

Both are excellent desktops. I perfer Gnome.

I'll hand this one to KDE. Thanks to KDE's new default theme, it now
looks gorgeous.

My reasons for using Gnome are along different lines. The applications I
want are mostly Gnome/Gtk applications. They look more in-place in Gnome.
I prefer to program in Gtk than Qt. Things like that.
