Hello, I have an HP-DeskJet920C and I was trying to configure it under gentoo. The problem is that I have everything configured (I "emerged" cups, foomatic and pnm2ppa) and generatedthe PPD file for my printer, put it in /usr/share/cups/model/ and started cupsd. So, when I connected to my port 631 and added my printer everything seemed to be ok, but when I try to print the system looks like it's sending the job to the printer and so on, but it doesn't work, and when I see the printer status through my 631 port it says something like: "Printer not connected...retrying in x seconds" I don't know where is the problem, because my kernel also has the USB printer support as a built-in.
If I do: echo "Hello" > /dev/usb/lp0 it returns: Permission denied I don't know why but my /dev/usb is empty. Anybody knows where is the problem? Thank you. -- [EMAIL PROTECTED] mailing list
