I started getting the same message after I ran "etc-update" and replaced some of the 
files that are used to build /etc/modules.conf. I suspect it it came with the new 
/etc/modules.devfs, but I am not sure. I think it has to do with this some how because 
I am also getting a modprobe error with /dev/rtc and /dev/misc/rtc which are both 
listed in this file (along with "alias /dev/tts*  serial" and "alias /dev/ttyS* 
/dev/tts") and used to build /etc/modules.conf.

I tried commenting the lines out (even though the comments say not to) but the errors 
did not change.
