Dhruba, Yes, just put CD 3 into your Linux PC and run the Linux install script (linuxinstaller.sh I think) (it's in the root directory of the CD) and follow the instructions. You probably will want to read the README file first just to get an idea of what you need to do to do the install. Do not run the install script from your mounted CD directory because you will need to change CDs so doing that would cause you problems.
As far as I know multiplayer does work. I just haven't tried it yet.
