i'm just looking for clarification here, but today i received the GWN
informing me that "Portage 2.1 to adopt RPM format for LSB compliance". what
exactly does this mean? will gentoo still be downloading source and
compiling its own? or are we looking at pre-compiled packages now?
the blurb wasn't all that descriptive so i'm hoping someone on here can
clarify.
