If you use KDE then there are ways to use a vnc client.  Check the control 
centre, Internet & Network, Desktop Sharing.  You will probably want to allow 
uninvited connections and uncheck the confirm uninvited connections.  Then 
set a good password.
It might be an idea to use ssh to tunnel this over (port is assigned on the 
netowkr tab) to prevent anyone from getting at you system.
