Hello everybody, Im trying to get my soundblaster audigy to work.
I also have RedHat8.0 which loads the following modules for sound:
audigy 79112 1 (autoclean) ac97_codec 13416 0 (autoclean) [audigy] sound 74228 0 (autoclean) [audigy] soundcore 6500 7 (autoclean) [audigy sound]
after running pci-setup (from the gentoo-UT2003 livecd):
Module Size Used by Not tainted emu10k1 63720 0 ac97_codec 9512 0 [emu10k1] soundcore 3652 4 [emu10k1] loop 9528 0 (autoclean) lvm-mod 57408 0
sound worked fine while playing ut2003_demo
I have the following options set in my vanilla-sources kernel for sound:
CONFIG_SOUND_EMU10K1=m CONFIG_MIDI_EMU10K1=y
but emu10k1 failes to load, even after modprobing ac97_codec and soundcore.
am I doing something wrong, is there something else I need to put in my kernel, or do I actually need to use the gentoo-sources.
