Do you see this: CONFIG_DEVFS_FS=y CONFIG_DEVFS_MOUNT=y I apologize for asking this, but I do not know exactly where your are at, so does /usr/src/linux/arch/i386/boot/bzImage match /boot/bzImage, and is the date later than that of /usr/src/linux/.config?
