Hi folks,

I've only just installed gentoo (very impressed so far) but I've now
run into a problem that I can't seem to find the answer to.

I prefer to use rxvt inside gnome as opposed to gnome-terminal,
simply because I only need the few features that rxvt has. My old
desktop was Red Hat and I was used to having launchers with commands
a bit like this:

rxvt -e ssh [EMAIL PROTECTED]

which when clicked would provide me with an rxvt running ssh to a
remote host.

Having merged rxvt in gentoo I tried this, but rxvt seems to close
itself immediately when the -e option is used. "rxvt" by itself
does provide me with a working terminal on the local machine, and
"rxvt -e bash" does too, but pretty much anything else after the -e
leads to the terminal just closing itself flashing away too fast to
see any output or errors (if there were any).

Has anyone else got any ideas? I'm sure it's something simple that
I have missed.

gnome-terminal -e "ssh remote.host" _does_ work, but I really don't
want to have to use gnome-terminal as I like to have a lot of
connections to remote hosts and gnome-terminal binary is over 100
times larger than rxvt... :)

Regards,
Andy
