Hello ! Yes, i have an idea about that :) I think you miss the HDLC support in your kernel. The speedtouch says you need that :
Character devices ---> [*] Non-standard serial port support <M> HDLC line discipline support [*]Unix98 PTY support I'm not sure the last one (unix98 PTY) is required, but the first is. You really should have a quick loot at this : http://speedtouch.sourceforge.net/index.php?/index.en.html The 'Documentation' section is very easy to read, and some part deals with kernel options you have to set. It's also available in french if it helps :) regards, sylvain > Hy Sylvain, > > sorry for answering that late after you did, > > with the exams and the work it is very hard to get a few minutes for > myself. > > I have checked everything and it seems to be another problem, > /var/log/messages contains the following ( and when I run "pppd call > adsl" I can't see no "pppoa2 -m 1 ...." with a 'ps aguxww') : > > May 31 13:51:23 kola pppd[1892]: Couldn't attach to channel 15: No such > device or address > May 31 13:51:23 kola pppd[1892]: Couldn't reset tty to normal line > discipline: Bad file descriptor > May 31 13:51:23 kola pppd[1892]: ioctl(PPPIOCGFLAGS): Bad file > descriptor > > ... > > any idea of what is it related to ? > > Thx, > > Stanislas. -- [EMAIL PROTECTED] mailing list
