An interesting note. At work we run alot of Geforce cards and have been having problems with them when using any driver after 2880. Recently learned from nVidia people that all Geforce cards do not lock well to vertical retrace when used in a vertical sync locked GL mode, which matchs our observations. This seems to be a low priority because they expect that most people that own Geforce cards use them for gameing and therefore run them in open loop mode anyway and people who are aware of the problem will just use the 2880 driver. The newer FX and Quadro cards do not suffer the same problem. You will not see any significant improvement with drivers newer than when the GPUs on your card were first issued. Most of the updates are for enabling capabilities on newer cards.
