I agree with Mookta here, there is nothing wrong with the vanilla sources.  If 
you are heavily anxious to use the .21 kernel with some (or all) of the 
current gentoo-sources, you're more than welcome to try to patch up a .21 
with the gentoo-sources patches.  (Although, I doubt everything would patch 
cleanly.  Even if it did, you would likely run into a panic or oops.)

The best thing to do would be to apply patches selectively or just use the 
vanillas without any patches.
