I think it depends on what you do on your /tmp partition. If there only
system programs write things on (like gdm, ssh, ssh-agent,mutt etc.) 100 MB
should be way enough for everything you want to do. I do a lot of programing
(log processing etc.) on /tmp, so I made it 500 MB large, so I have always
enough space for some tmp-files while programming.
