Try xchat-2 - I don't use it but there was mention of it in a thread recently.

gkrellm comes in two versions - 1.x and 2.0.  Do an emerge -s gkrell | more 
and you'll see them.  Beware that there are add-ons for both versions.  If 
you have version 2 installed and install an app for version 1 it will install 
version 1.x of gkrellm.
