13 hours and 4gig later, it works for me as well. As others have
reported, this thing screams when compiled from source! Only 12
seconds to start (including initial setup, which is now automatic and
works without all the oddball errors I got under previous versions).
Even the printer stuff is properly configured. Somehow, the oo team has
learned that not all the world uses a4 paper!
Now I need to search the archives, since I can't remember how to get all
of my fonts available under oo.
Run spadmin as root. There you can add your fonts.
At least this way it worked with stable versions so far.
