i think, it was my thread ;-)

the shortest way is, to download the red hat mkinitrd package, and
unpack it into the dir's . I use "mc" for unpacking and copy all files
into /sbin/ /usr/share/doc /usr/share/man etc.

After that, read the man or the search google. Red Hat has also a online
man for that. It's easy going :-)
