Greetings people,

I just want to know if anyone has run into this problem in trying to
config a cd burner on gentoo. I have an ide LG DVD/CDRW combo unit, and
I have built all the neccessary modules : IDE/ATAPI CDROM support, SCSI
emulation support, SCSI CDROm support, SCSI generic support.

But when I try to run "cdrecord -scanbus" I get the following:

+/Cdrecord 2.01a14 (i686-pc-linux-gnu) Copyright (C) 1995-2003 J?rg
+/Schilling
+/cdrecord: No such file or directory. Cannot open '/dev/pg*'. Cannot
+/open SCSI driver.
+/cdrecord: For possible targets try 'cdrecord -scanbus'. Make sure you
+/are root.
+/cdrecord: For possible transport specifiers try 'cdrecord dev=help'.

Similarly in gcombust and k3b it doesn;t see any writers.

Any ideas?

Thanks

Simon
