Unison

It runs on Windows, Linux, FreeBSD, Solaris, etc. True two way syncronization, runs
silently (via cron) or via a GUI. Has excellent conflict resolution and runs pretty
fast
after the initial run. I recently found it, I'd been looking for this for YEARS.
rsync/rdist
suck for anything but one-way.

Oh, on Gentoo: emerge unison
