Thanks for the tip Håvard, xircon is my card.  Keep in mind, that the
silly thing was working with a previous build, it was only when I
rebuilt that I got a problem. I'm rebuilding as we ?speak?, but it's on
a PentiumII-400, 64M so I have lot's of free time.

I can see that gentoo is not just a distribution, it's a hobby.  Which
is not necessarily bad.  One of the reasons, I'm playing with it is I
wanted to understand more about how Linux works. I think maybe it was
mistake to start on a laptop though, since they're always more
problematical.
