Have converted to the nvidia drivers. Looks ok, but glxgears will not
run:
Xlib: extension "GLX" missing on display ":0.0".
Error: couldn't get an RGB, Double-buffered visual
After much googling, I don't see the answer.
I have
1. emerged nvidia-kernel and nvidial-glx (4363)
2. opengl-update nvidia
3. XF86Config has
load glx (no load dri)
using driver 'nv'
4. Also rebooted, but no difference
X starts and runs normally and log indicates
(II) LoadModule: "glx"
(II) Loading /usr/X11R6/lib/modules/extensions/libglx.so
(II) Module glx: vendor="NVIDIA Corporation"
compiled for 4.0.2, module version = 1.0.4363
Module class: XFree86 Server Extension
ABI class: XFree86 Server Extension, version 0.1
(II) Loading extension GLX
Any clues?
