Nope,  I'd suggest you just use a default wine and a clean linux
-lets-fake-windows  setup

Better to do it via Wine actually, since then you get the registry
settings done during the install (you know, most windows progs like to
muck about there =)
 

Fact is that I've also had mixed success with wine, but generally the
programs I want to work actually do work fairly well (Neat Image for
example) Whereas others don't work perfectly (BookWorm ;) and some are a
pure mess to get right (Fallout 2)
