Hi, I just got curios and had a look into /usr/lib
There were some libGL and libGLcore files from nvidia 4396.
I removed them, emerged 4496 again, did opengl-update and started X.

I have still to play ut, but glxinfo does not show errors.

Conclusions 
 In a straight-up fight, the Empire squashes the Federation like a bug. Even
