Search the list archives for this subject:

"startup while not connected to the net"

It has a pair of scripts for alternate boot methods.  However, it uses an
environmental variable set as a boot option to tell the net.eth0 startup
which network to boot with.  You should be able to set this environmental
variable manually, then start or restart net.eth0 and it should come up
right.
