I re-emerged bcast with CXXFLAGS and CFLAGS='-O2'. Still nothing. I untar'ed the tarball in the hope of finding some documentation about dependencies (the ebuild should take care of this, but who knows?). Also nothing (there are html docs inside, though, of the kind one would expect to find in the homepage!). The only thing I can think of is that some USE variable might be missing.
